As a (Postdoctoral) Researcher, you’ll contribute to advancing the field of Vision AI and personalized learning, while shaping European research agendas through cross-disciplinary collaboration and public dissemination.
As a (Postdoctoral) Researcher at Adaptemy, you’ll be:
- Developing and implementing advanced machine learning models, with a special focus Vision AI models for object detection and smart content tagging, Quality of Experience modelling, user modelling algorithms, and recommendation algorithms.
- Analysing pilot data and getting results.
- Contributing to EU-funded projects like HEAT-XR, including research, technical deliverables, and dissemination activities.
- Collaborating with leading European universities, research labs, and EdTech providers to drive innovation.
- Supporting dissemination efforts through academic publications, presentations, and interactive demonstrations.
- Bridging research and engineering teams to bring prototypes into scalable, real-world platforms.
Do you have what it takes?
Graduate Level
- PhD recently completed in Computer Science, AI, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- Solid programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Foundational understanding of computer vision (e.g., image classification, face/gesture analysis).
- Experience analysing pilot data.
- Strong motivation to work on applications of AI, including human-centered systems.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to collaborative research and dissemination in an EU project environment.
- Publication experience in AI, ML or EdTech domains.
- Experience analysing data from pilots and experiments.
Mid Level
- PhD in Computer Science, AI, Computer Vision, Affective Computing or related field, with 3+ years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
- Experience designing and deploying computer vision models, particularly in human-centered or affective computing domains.
- Previous involvement in EU-funded research projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+), including technical deliverables and publications.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to dissemination activities.
- Experience analysing large scale data.
- Track record of successfully using AI/ML models in production.
- Hands-on experience with ML/AI in Education.
- Good publication record in AI, ML, or EdTech domains.
What makes you uncommon?
Graduate Level
- Completed PhD with early contributions to Vision AI, AI in Education or affective computing.
- Experience working on interdisciplinary AI projects or thesis work involving education, psychology, or human-computer interaction.
- Participation in research dissemination efforts (e.g., early-stage publications).
- Interest in science communication, project outreach, or open-source collaboration.
- Experience with open-source ML Projects
- Previous experience with ML/AI projects
- Familiarity with user modelling methods and knowledge tracing, agentic object detection
Mid Level
- 3+ years of postdoctoral experience with published work in Vision AI or AI systems.
- Active contributor to EU project work packages or deliverables.
- Experience translating research into visual outputs (demos, videos, interactive tools) for dissemination.
- Able to articulate research impact to diverse audiences — from educators to policymakers.
- Prior involvement in designing or leading dissemination activities (e.g., conference booths, stakeholder workshops).
- Experience with ML model implementation, monitoring and maintenance
- Understanding of AI agents and their applications
- Knowledge of user modelling methods and knowledge tracing, agentic object detection, quality of experience monitoring
